PA Turnpike Construction
Full closures and traffic paces are scheduled to take place in July in both directions on the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s Northeast Extension (I-476) between the Lansdale and Quakertown interchanges in southeast Pennsylvania for construction activities.
The work schedule is:
-Monday, July 6, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, traffic paces northbound
-Tuesday, July 7, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, traffic paces southbound
-Wednesday, July 8, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, traffic paces in both directions
-Thursday, July 9, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning traffic paces in both directions
-Sunday, July 12, from 12:00 AM Midnight to 6:00 AM Sunday morning, full closure northbound I-476 for beam placement on the bridge over a branch of the Perkiomen Creek
–Traffic will be detoured to exit at the Lansdale Interchange (Exit #31), left onto State Route 63 east (Sumneytown Pike), left onto U.S. Route 202 north, left onto State Route 309 north, then left onto State Route 663 (John Fries Highway) south to the Quakertown Interchange (#44).
-Sunday, July 19, from 12:00 AM Midnight to 6:00 AM Sunday morning, full closure on southbound I-476 for beam placement on the bridge over a branch of the Perkiomen Creek
–Traffic will be detoured to exit at the Quakertown Interchange (Exit #44), left onto State Route 663 (John Fries Highway) north, right onto State Route 309 south, right onto U.S. Route 202 south, then right onto State Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) west to the Lansdale Interchange (#31).
The work is part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s $225 million investment to widen and reconstruct seven miles of the Northeastern Extension between Milepost A31 and A38 in Lower Salford, Franconia, and Salford townships in Montgomery County. The entire project is expected to finish in late 2020.
