Bridge Demolition to Close Kumry Road Under PA Turnpike Project in Milford Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Kumry Road will be closed and detoured for two weeks beginning on Monday, December 9, for demolition of the Turnpike overpass under the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s project to reconstruct and widen Interstate 476 (Northeast Extension) between Mileposts A38 and A44 in Montgomery and Bucks counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

  • Monday, December 9, through Monday, December 23, Kumry Road will be closed and detoured 24/7 at the I-476 overpass. Passenger vehicles will be directed to use Krammes Road, Route 663 (John Fries Highway), and Allentown Road. Trucks will be directed to use Route 663 (John Fries Highway), Route 309, Tollgate Road, and Main Street.

During the closure, eastbound Kumry Road will be accessible to Rosenberger Road, and westbound will be accessible to Walnut Road

Daily closures and detours may occur through summer 2025 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. for select construction operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Visit the MP A38-A44 project website for more information.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike will complete this work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
